A warm review from the Winnipeg Freepress

Talented actors Nicole Ascroft and Sean Michael make great use of audience participation to keep the laughs rolling…the two clowns — dressed in black, with ghoulish makeup, a stark contrast to their cheery red clown noses — have lots of tricks up their sleeves.

After quickly gaining popularity in Toronto’s underground vaudeville & variety circuit (appearing regularly at the long-running Lunacy Cabaret, Red Nose District, Mullet’s Night Show, Mullet’s Clown Cabaret, and The Toronto Festival of Clowns), goofy and ghoulish clowns Clarence and Desolita (SEAN MICHAEL and NICOLE ASCROFT) debut their first full-length stage show at the 2013 Winnipeg Fringe Festival.

Clarence and Desolita find their fun in the grim and macabre. With party streamers, staged suicide, dark rituals of the occult, and perilous breakfast cereal, siblings Clarence and Desolita revel and luxuriate in the dark, spooky, sorrowful corners of the human condition. Equal parts ghoulish and goofy, these clowns have been known to leave audiences stark raving mad for Clarence and Desolita!
